The Before/After School Care Program at Zora Neale Hurston Elementary School offers a variety of activities, including home learning assistance, indoor and outdoor games and Community School clubs.
The program manager supervises group activity leaders that have been screened by Miami-Dade County Public Schools to work directly with your children in smaller groups. All activity leaders received a minimum of 45 hours of Department of Children and Families training.
Each day a snack is provided for each child. (Please notify us of food allergies when registering).
The Before School Care (BSC) program runs from 7:00 AM to 8:05 AM, the cost is $6.00 a day. The After School Care (ASC) program runs from 1:50 PM to 6:00 PM, and the cost is $12.00 per day, for students with Free or Reduced lunch the price is $11.00 per day.
In addition we offer a program called Story Hour, which runs from 1:50 PM to 3:05 pm. The cost is $6.00 per day, and is only four days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Story Hour is highly recommended for parents with children who have two different dismissal times.
After School Care also offers Community School clubs which include robotics, cheer-leading and drama. Additional fees apply for these clubs.

After School Care’s Office Hours are from 10:30 AM until 6:00 PM, Monday thru Friday.
