After School Care Program

Dear Parents:

We at Zora Neale Hurston Elementary care about the safety of your children.

The Before/After School Care Program offers a variety of activities, including home learning assistance, indoor and outdoor games, music, and arts and crafts.

The program manager supervises group activity leaders that have been screened by Miami-Dade County Public Schools to work directly with your children in smaller groups. All activity leaders receive a minimum of 40 hours of Department of Children and Families training.

Each day a snack is provided for each child. (Please keep in mind notifying us of food allergies when registered.)

The BSC program is from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM, the cost is $4.00 a day.  The ASC program runs from 1:45 PM to 6:00 PM, and the cost is $8.00 per day per students, any students that have Free/Reduced lunch will pay $7.00 a day.

In addition we offer a program called “Story Hour”, which runs from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM. The cost for Story Hour is $4.00 per day, and it is only four days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Story Hour is highly recommended for parents that have children with two different dismissal times.
